Cyberattack hits Iran's petrol stations

 DUBAI: On Monday, Iran's Oil Minister Javad Owji confirmed that a cyberattack was to blame for the ongoing nationwide disruption to gasoline stations.

A hacking bunch that Iran blames for having connections to Israel guaranteed it completed the assault that upset administrations at gas stations the nation over on Monday, Iranian state television and Israeli nearby media revealed.

Owji had previously stated to Iranian state television that services had been disrupted at approximately 70% of Iran's gasoline stations and that external interference might have been the cause. He said later that 1,650 gas stations were open. 3,800 gas stations are supervised by the ministry.

According to Iranian state television news, the Predatory Sparrow group claimed responsibility for the disruption. The claim was also reported by Israeli local media.

"This cyberattack was completed in a controlled way to stay away from expected harm to crisis administrations," Savage Sparrow said in an explanation as per Iranian media.

In its investigation, Iran's civil defense agency, which is in charge of cybersecurity, stated that it was still taking into account all potential causes of the disruptions. Israel didn't promptly answer a solicitation for input on the occurrence. Iranian state media added that the programmer bunch had in the past guaranteed cyberattacks against Iranian gas stations, rail organizations and steel production lines.
