Gazans find no shelter as Khan Yunis comes under relentless shelling

 Khan Yunis, a city in Gaza, is facing a surge in violence as Israeli bombing intensifies, killing and wounding civilians in the north and east. Palestinian medics report hospitals overflowing with dead and wounded, many of them women and children, and supplies are running out. Some Palestinians have reported lucky escapes after their homes were destroyed in an overnight air strike on the Al-Amal neighborhood. Since October 7, Israeli air strikes and a ground offensive have killed over 16,200 people, mostly women and children. Hundreds of thousands of displaced people are seeking shelter in the dwindling number of safe areas designated by Israel. Hamas and Islamic Jihad have reported fighting with Israeli forces in Khan Yunis, with Israeli military claims of several Hamas commanders killed in an air strike near the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza.
