Israeli tanks blast their way into Khan Yunis

Israeli tanks have entered the heart of Khan Yunis, a refuge for civilians fleeing Tel Aviv's orders. Residents in Jabalia and Gaza City's Shejaiya district reported intense fighting, with the Israeli army striking over 250 targets in the past 24 hours. The fighting has claimed at least 17,700 lives in Gaza since October 7. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has pledged to continue appealing for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, stating that the war undermined the credibility and authority of the Security Council. He also expressed regret for the Security Council's delay in calling for a ceasefire, stating that it is still necessary.
