Almost two-thirds of homes in Gaza are damaged or destroyed, and 80% of people are displaced. Islamic Relief and local partners have distributed aid to thousands of people in southern and central Gaza, but the situation is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. The CEO of Islamic Relief Worldwide, Waseem Ahmad, argues that a ceasefire and more supplies are desperately needed to save lives and ensure safe aid delivery. He also emphasizes that Israel has an obligation under international law to allow more humanitarian aid and commercial supplies into Gaza, and that other crossings must be reopened for both humanitarian aid and vital commercial supplies to restock.
