Israeli airstrikes and missiles have struck homes and public buildings in Gaza, including the Al-Amal hospital in Khan Younis, killing five people, including a five-day-old baby. The hospital, which was marked with the Palestinian Red Crescent logo, was shelled twice, causing extensive damage to an estimated 14,000 people. UN health agency chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned the attacks, calling them "unconscionable." The WHO Director-General said many of those sheltering at Al-Amal had left, while those remaining were fearful for their safety. Under international humanitarian law, the hospital should be protected. The war has claimed at least 22,185 Palestinian fatalities in Gaza, with 70% of them being women and children. Up to 7,000 people are missing, with many presumed to be buried under rubble.
